No, we haven’t forgotten about the bridal industry’s most fashion fabulous event! We’ve just been super busy since the recent launch of Hope and Grace.
So, finally, here’s our round up of the best bits of the amazing collections which were unveiled at last week.
The collections from the catwalks this year just oozed elegance and there were several trends being showcased. By far the most striking was Vera Wang’s new collection of Far East inspired gowns. The collection presented beautiful gowns in all shades of red from cherry and crimson to scarlet.
As well as the shades of red collection from Vera Wang, colour was a strong element coming through in some of the other collections. We love this beautiful lace and blue tulle gown by Oscar De La Renta.
Texture also featured big this year and one of the prettiest examples of this was this stunning appliqué dress and veil by Oscar De La Renta
Following on from last year’s royal wedding, different and more demure necklines and lots of lace are something we’ll definitely be seeing more of in 2013. We adore these gowns from Oscar De La Renta and Temperley London
Two other trends coming through in the 2013 collections (and which we absolutely adore here at Hope and Grace) are sparkle and shine and vintage glamour. This beautiful gown by Monique Lhuillier stands out and who wouldn’t feel like a princess wearing it?
British-grown designer Jenny Packham didn’t disappoint this year either with her 1030s vintage glamour inspired collection with lots of silk chiffon, draped satins and French lace.
Another example of glamour on the catwalk was Carolina Herrera’s beautiful collection inspired by her visit to a Cecil Beaton exhibition in London. She wanted her gowns to reflect the beauty of his images and this amazing one shoulder gown does exactly that.
So it appears that New York Bridal Fashion Week 2012 has been a huge success and we are still dizzy from taking in all of the beautiful gowns on show. Once we have recovered, we’ll be bringing you more inspiration from the 2013 collections.
